DC Comics has announced its next event, this summer’s: “Knight Terrors”. This will be a horror-themed crossover series that will deal with the undead and adventuring into the nightmare realm. Joshua Williamson, Guillem March, and Howard Porter are the creative team behind the event.

The mini-series will kickstart when Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman find an enemy’s body at the Hall of Justice. They investigate where the corpse came from, only to go through several different monster-filled realms and undead experiences. Naturally when talking about the undead, Deadman will also be a central character in the story.

Writer Williamson is psyched to be heading this event. He’s been chomping at the bit to do some horror-themed comics.

I love horror comics, and it’s been a blast bringing the energy to Dawn of DC. Knight Terrors showcases the horror side of our heroes as a brand-new villain confronts them with their worst nightmares. It’s a fun and horrific event that brings together all of the heroes and villains of DC, along with some surprises!

‘Knight Terrors’ Free Comic Book Day Special

The event will start with this year’s Free Comic Book Day Special. Artist Chris Bachalo will be contributing his unique art to the free issue. The one-shot special will focus on Damian Wayne and his nightmares. What kind of horrors will invade his dreams? What about his dreams makes them so disturbing for Damian?

Fans can get a sneak peek on May 6th.

The event will run during the months of July and August. There will be multiple two issue mini-series to tie into the event. While details are still scarce, DC’s official press release promises:

The Superheroes better be careful, as whatever happens to them in the Nightmare Realm will also be reflected in the Waking World.

Spooky!
