Minecraft Adds Batman DLC

The popular video game, Minecraft, has announced that it will add Batman content, allowing fans to play as the Dark Knight and the rest of the Bat Family.

The Minecraft-themed expo “Minecraft Live 2022” broke the news of the new downloadable content. They also debuted a trailer where DC Comics publisher Jim Lee introduce the new game features. You can play as Batman, Batgirl, Nightwing, or Robin.

There’s a new world-building pack with traditional Batman locales, like the Gotham Police Station, the Batcave, or just the Gotham rooftops. Beyond the playable characters, fans can interact with the rogues’ gallery which features the Joker, Harley Quinn, the Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, the Penguin, and Clayface.

There seems to be an assortment of featured games, like battling against the Joker or solving the Riddler’s puzzles. Fans who cannot wait for Batman content can even get a Batman-themed cap for their Minecraft characters at the in-game shop now.

I don’t know about you, but the Batman cap looks an awful lot like the ones they used to sell when the original Batman came out in 1989. Will Batmania sweep the nation again? Or at the very least, sweep the Minecraft world?

The Batman DLC hits Minecraft starting on October 18. There’s no news on how much it will cost, though some sites speculate that it will be about $10.
