The Suicide Squad Behind-The-Scenes Featurette

The much anticipated The Suicide Squad is just around the corner (it’s actually already out in theaters, here in the UK), and with it comes a short behind-the-scenes featurette of the actors’ thoughts about the specific anti-hero that they’ve brought to life.

New Friends!

There were a lot of characters director James Gunn had to choose from, so many that there’s an entire Twitter thread about his thoughts and choices. In the end he landed on the amazing line up of characters we’re now waiting anxiously to see more of, and honestly, I wouldn’t change a single character of this mix-matched sqwad.

The Suicide Squad movie’s introducing even more of DC’s huge roster of characters to the big screen, and showing the world even more villains to fall in love with. Take King Shark as an example, because I can’t get over how cute he is, and now nothing makes sense anymore. Come on! The short clip in the aquarium? That’s adorable and you can’t deny it

We’ve seen Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn several times now, and each time we’ve fallen a little more in love with Gotham’s Mistress of Mayhem. The others, however, we’ve only seen animated or in the Warner Brothers series Gotham. Oh, and that one time on The Flash for King Shark. It’s exciting to get to see so many new characters introduced to the DCEU, so hopefully they’ll stick around longer than Slipknot did in Suicide Squad (2016).

Written and directed by James Gunn, the new film stars Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Michael Rooker as Savant, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Sylvester Stallone as King Shark, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, John Cena as Peacemaker, Flula Borg as Javelin, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Marling NG as Mongal, Alice Braga as Solsoria, Nathan Fillion as TDK, Sean Gunn as Weasel, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Steve Agee, Taika Waititi and Storm Reid are also featured.

The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters and on HBO Max in the U.S. on August 6th, 2021.
