New ‘The Suicide Squad’ Calendar Highlights Harley Quinn

With only two months until James Gunn’s ’ The Suicide Squad is unleashed upon the world. This is a movie that could possibly be DC’s bloodiest yet, and we’re all looking forward to what’s in store. We’ve seen glimpses of the film with trailers and promotional photos, as well as being mercilessly teased by the cast and crew about what could happen. Recently, however, there’s been a new addition to the promotional material for the movie in the form of a new The Suicide Squad calendar, with art that suits their uniqueness.

Twitter user @TaurooAldebaran  released these photos following leaked images of a Batman-inspired calendar.

The Suicide Squad Calendar Has a Secret Weapon: Harley Quinn

Something about this Suicide Squad calendar that’s very obvious, however, is that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is clearly in the spotlight. Not that anyone’s upset about seeing more of our favorite psychopath, happy and murdery. We’re all very familiar with Robbie’s version of The Mistress of Mayhem, since this is the third time she’s portrayed her. This makes it understandable for the calendar makers to use a character that’s already won over fans to take center stage in their marketing. She certainly draws more attention to herself by being the only smiling character out of them all. Not that anyone ever expects Amanda Waller to flash a big toothy grin.

Each photo is bold and different in every way, marching the unmatched team very well. There are bright colors and bold text, very similar to the Japanese ‘The Suicide Squad’ Posters, which the world needs more of. In these images, we have the chance to see a little more of Task Force X in a different light or covered in blood too.

As for the images themselves, there isn’t much to gain besides simply having new visuals for the team. In fact, it may as well be Margot Robbie’s calendar. Though it’s hard to deny that the single Bloodsport poster is quite neat.

On top of this news, we also have the upcoming series Peacemaker, coming to HBO Max to look forward to. Although not much is known about what this show will involve just yet, some suspect it to be a dark comedy.

Written and directed by James Gunn, the new film stars Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Michael Rooker as Savant, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Sylvester Stallone as King Shark, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, John Cena as Peacemaker, Flula Borg as Javelin, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Mayling NG as Mongal, Alice Braga as Solsoria, Nathan Fillion as TDK, Sean Gunn as Weasel, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Steve Agee, Taika Waititi and Storm Reid also feature.

What do make of the new The Suicide Squad calendar? Will it be going on your wish list? Let us know.

The Suicide Squad will be released in cinemas in 2021
