James Gunn Teases Fans by Staying Silent on ‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer

Unfortunately, we have yet to receive a TSS trailer and I’m fairly salty about it. In the meantime, it looks like Gunn is teasing fans by remaining silent on The Suicide Squad trailer.

We’re now less than 5 months away from TSS, and we still haven’t gotten a trailer. What gives, Warner Bros? This movie was filmed and finished on schedule with no delays, so what exactly is going on? Well, despite being a bit of a chatterbox on social media, Gunn is remaining silent on The Suicide Squad trailer His silence is clearly meant to be a tease, right? Right?!

Even before Zack Snyder’s Justice League, I was more excited for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. As mentioned so many times in the past, I’m a huge fan of Gunn because he’s adept at juxtaposing irreverent humor with beautiful heart-warming character moments, and these are things that the DC movies have been lacking for quite some time. Give Gunn the opportunity to go for an R-rating, and you have a recipe for a good movie.

Silence speaks volumes

A fan on Twitter directly asked the writer/director if there was any update on the trailer. Gunn replied with one simple emoji.

What a master of social media. He specifically sought out that one question among thousands, and simply answered with a shushing emoji. He’s staying silent while clearly hinting that there’s something he can’t talk about and doesn’t want anyone else to either. That one emoji was definitely meant to throw everyone, including myself, into a frenzy.

My guess is that they’re going to hold off for at least another few weeks, to a month, to let everyone watch the #SnyderCut first. Don’t want to take too much attention away from that, just yet. After all, Snyder really deserves his victory lap, right?

Check out the synopsis below:

Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out — even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone’s favorite [psycho], Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese

Please just give me a trailer. I promise I’ll stop complaining.

Stay tuned to DKN for more updates.

The Suicide Squad hits theatres and HBO Max on August 6, 2021.
