Tales From The Dark Multiverse- Crisis On Infinite Earths #1 is here and it packs quite a wallop!

Once again readers are on a journey that shows the importance of choice, and what impact just one decision can have on the universe. What consequences it could lead to in the lives of our favorite characters, and how it can affect their destinies. We got to see just how different things got in my most recent review of this series (Tales From The Dark Multiverse- Hush #1).

Watching Earths Gasp

Following in the same fashion as the other books in the Tales From The Dark Multiverse series, Crisis On Infinite Earths takes one key moment from the original book, and spins it on its head. Fans of the original will remember the team of Marv Wolfman and George Perez creating the theory of the multiverse, and introducing the Anti-Monitor. This was a villain whose sole purpose was the destruction of these multiple worlds, and all their heroes and villains alike. It was only after many deaths, including some fan favorites and beloved characters, that the day was saved by four heroes, and those from the original Earth-2 had to disappear in order for the remaining world to right itself.

In Tales From The Dark Multiverse- Crisis On Infinite Earths #1, Steve Orlando, Mark Perkins, Andrew Troy, and ALW’s Troy Peteri have given us their version of events, but with a wicked twist… of course. They keep to the heroics of the original, showcasing heroes in their finest hours, so there’s not only nostalgia, but there is action… loads of it.  We get all the highs and lows you’d expect from a Crisis event, and Steve Orlando’s someone who knows a Crisis!

A Different Shade of Green

The twist is one that’s sure to thrill, and the ending is *Chef’s Kiss*. I was at the edge of my seat, watching to see where the story would lead, and I was not disappointed.

Conclusion

Read it. Every one of the stories in this series have been magnificent, and I always look forward to the next twist on one of the pivotal moments in DC’s history. This one was especially delicious, as the original Crisis On Infinite Earths included so many characters, and echoed through so many of the story-lines that followed it. The Tales From The Dark Multiverse twist definitely has the same feeling, and we get a look at how differently things could have gone.
