I honestly don’t know where to start, I mean… Wow! I’m still in that happy place from issue #42, you know that Batman induced thrill you get? Well that was well and truly delivered, and then some. Not only did we get Batman but we got some touching scenes with Alfred Pennyworth. Simply brilliant storytelling. So, how does Teen Titans #43 compare? Well it’s actually outstanding.

Now, I may sound like a broken record, but I’m saying it again. I’m tired of seeing the team at odds with each other, it was starting to feel like lazy writing, I honestly didnt think that it could be made exciting again. Well as I often am, I was wrong. I won’t spoil the story, but Damian is yet again at odds with the rest of the Teen Titans. It’s incredible, and it involves KGBeast… so you know it’s going to be good.

The writing is excellent, and I couldn’t be happier with the new creative force. I loved Adam Glass at the helm, but Robbie Thompson’s making me remember the past kindly, but also embrace the future. I’m looking ahead with real excitement. The art is brilliant, dynamic and, most importantly, really complements the writing.

Conclusion

I loved every panel of Teen Titans #43, because it’s an exciting time to be reading this series. We’re moving away from the more supernatural and mythological world of genies, and angels, and more towards old school Gotham, and classic villains, that long term fans will get a real kick out of. Of course, what about Batman? Well let’s just say it’d really be worth your while picking up a copy, to see whats going on.
