R&B Singer The Weeknd Dresses up as Jack Nicholson’s Joker for Halloween

Jack Nicholson as the Joker (1989)

Last Thursday, we all got to celebrate Halloween. While it’s an extremely fun holiday for children and adults alike, the rise of social media allows us to see how celebrities are just like us. You know, because they also celebrate Halloween, but with a lot more money for costumes. We all know that Heidi Klum simply cannot be beat, but, as Batfans, we’re likely more excited by Jensen Ackles’ Batman costume. That was a real delight. However, there’s yet another celebrity who showed us how much of a Batfan he really is. R&B Singer, The Weeknd had a insanely accurate, almost chilling Jack Nicholson’s Joker costume.

Don’t believe me? Well, check his Twitter post below:

It’s so unsettlingly identical to Jack Nicholson’s Joker from Tim Burton’s Batman. While the suit is spot-on, it’s clear that his makeup artist deserves so much credit for being able to completely capture that rictus grin. I mean, I can’t praise it enough. It’s so perfectly executed that he looks like he could have easily walked off the set 30 years ago.

If you recall correctly, that now trademark grin for Jack Nicholson’s Joker was due to a botched attempt of reconstructive surgery, following the standard origin of him falling into a vat of acid. It was such a unique take on the character, but it left an insanely lasting impression on Batfans forever (Pun game is on-point!).

It’s interesting to see that he chose this Joker, despite Joaquin Phoenix’s version taking over pop culture. I suppose that the new Joker is simply too easy, and this was a better way to capture people’s attention. Like I said, that rictus grin is now legendary, and it’s pretty incredible to see someone pull it off.

What do you think of The Weeknd’s costume? Please let us know.
