Robert Pattinson Says Batsuit Is Very, Very Cool

Article by Chris Foti

With filming of The Batman ready to begin within the next few months, the news floodgates have opened. Just this week it was revealed that Paul Cano and Zoe Kravitz have been cast as the Riddler and Catwoman, respectively. Now, Robert Pattinson reveals he knows what the Batsuit will look like and it is “very, very cool.”

Pattinson said that he has not seen the final version of the suit, but that it does exist within the Warner Bros. Batcave.

Matt has got a really awesome idea about it. I think this thing is going to be very, very cool.

For his final audition, Pattinson did wear a version of the suit. He said while it does feel incredible to wear, it’s tough to get into.

It’s maybe the craziest thing I’ve ever done in terms of movie stuff. I put it on. I remember saying to Matt (Reeves), “It does feel quite transformative!”

You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like “Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.”

Legacy of the Batsuit

With each new iteration of the Dark Knight, we as fans always get excited about the same things. Who will be Batman? Who are the villains? And what does the suit/car/gadgets look like? So far we have answers to 2 of the 3 big questions, with more castings and villains yet to be announced.

Reeves, Pattinson and company have some pretty big Bat-boots to fill. Ben Affleck’s version of the suit is the most comics accurate to make it to the big screen, and both suits used by Christian Bale worked for the more grounded take on the character. It will be interesting to see if they decide to stick with the comic accurate grey with the black/blue cape/cowl or if they decide to go all black again.

What would you like to see in the next Batsuit? Let us know!
