Phoenix’s Joker Won’t Be Meeting Pattinson’s Batman

Article by Philip Clark

Todd Phillips’ Joker is in the early stages of doing its round of press junkets. Reviews have been good so far and, while we’re still about a month away from it’s theatrical release, there is a lot to be excited for. It’s been clear to most that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is an entity separate to all others, but some fans still don’t quite get it.

While Phillips has already come out and stated that his movie does not take place within the DCEU, there is still a question on many fan’s minds. In a red carpet interview at the second viewing of the movie, one reporter got to ask his question.

Will we be seeing Pattinson’s Batman, and Phoenix’s Joker squaring off with each other?

The director’s answer was clear, and concise.

No, definitely not.

So there we have it ladies and gentlemen, even though the ever-changing scenery of the comic book world could allow for something like that, it’s been made very clear that it’s not something we’ll be seeing on the big screen.
