The variant cover for the second issue DCeased features an undead Jason Todd (Red Hood) getting revenge on the Joker. Midtown Comics released their exclusive variant cover of the zombie DC Comics event, painted by artist InHyuck Lee, on Twitter.
The cover leans heavily into dramatic irony, as a zombified Red Hood beats on the Joker with a crowbar. The ironic part being that the Joker originally “killed” Todd the same way, decades earlier.
Midtown Comics is proud to announce our variant covers for DCeased #2 from artist @inhyuklee! Featuring Jason Todd, it connects to #1! Let us know if you’d like to see the entire series done. Joker’s Lament
While the cover certainly is gruesome, one look at the Joker’s beleaguered will guarantee at least a mild guffaw. I mean, look at the poor guy! His expression is totally “I should’ve stayed in bed today”. It’s almost a shame that this scene will probably not be in the actual comic.
The coolest part of the Red Hood cover is that it is interconnects with Lee’s variant for DCeased #1.
