‘The Batman’ Set To Release In 2021

Matt Reeves will handpick the actor to play The Batman

We have heard about this project for quite some time. A solo Batman film.

First, Ben Affleck was to star and direct. Then he passed on directing duties. Following that, there were questions about whether or not Affleck would even be wearing the cowl.

Now, Variety is reporting that Matt Reeves’ The Batman will make its way to theaters on June 25, 2021. It looks like a definite no return for Affleck. In another interview, Reeves explains that the Dark Knight will face several villains in the upcoming film:

“You can’t have Batman without a villain,” Reeves tells THR. “There will be a rogues gallery.”

Actor Josh Gad has expressed his interest in playing Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. The Penguin, but Reeves remains silent on which villains will be in the picture, or who will be playing them. The new movie is said to focus more on the character’s detective skills than in past films.

Are you excited that The Batman finally has a release date? Who do you think should play the Dark Knight? Which villains should he face? Make your voice heard! Sound off in the comments below, and on social media.
