‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Actress Caity Lotz Doesn’t Rule Out Sara and Batwoman Relationship

Last month, it was announced that Kate Kane, aka Batwoman, will be joining the CW’s Arrowverse and will be played by actress Ruby Rose. The character will debut in the annual crossover story that involves all the various Arrowverse shows, and will then spin off into her own show on CW.

The character of Kate Kane is one of the highest-profile gay superheroes in the DC lineup, and her introduction in the Arrowverse means she will be crossing paths with Sara Lance. Currently, Sara is in a relationship with Ava Sharpe of the Time Bureau.

Caity Lotz, who portrays Sara, was asked at San Diego Comic-Con if the introduction of Batwoman will cause any conflict for her character.

Why would it cause conflict? Like maybe Sara’s gonna be like “Yoooo.”

After thinking about it some more she replied with “Maybe.” However, as I mentioned earlier, Sara is in a pretty stable relationship with Ava right now so it’s unlikely. Lotz feels the same way:

I don’t know, I feel like Ava and Sara it’s more than a fling. So, some hot chick in a bat costume isn’t going to just pull her away. But you never know. I don’t know.

Just because two characters are gay doesn’t mean they should automatically have a relationship. However, CW does like to up the drama in their shows so a love triangle between Kate, Sara and Ava isn’t out of the realms of possibility. People are attracted to mystery and what could be more attractive than a mysterious woman dressed like a bat?

I can see a scenario where Kate and Sara need to team up to save Ava and a relationship forms from there, but only time will tell.

As for where season 4 of Legends of Tomorrow will take Sara Lance, Lotz had this to say:

I think her big challenges is she had nothing really to lose before. It was just work, team, this and now she has a relationship and feels like for once in her life she’s not a screw up. We fixed time. She’s starting to have like the standard for herself. Stuff is going to happen and jeopardize her being able to balance the two, and I think Sara really wants to have some normalcy and a real relationship and do human things. Her whole life she’s kind of missed out on that. That’s going to be hard, trying to hold on to that while being the captain of a traveling time ship.

Being the captain of a traveling time ship certainly doesn’t sound like what normal humans do, but we wish Sara Lance the best of luck, she’s been through a lot.

Season 4 of Legends of Tomorrow, titled “The Virgin Gary”, debuts on Monday, October 22nd at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
