SDCC 2018: Comic-Con May Have Mistakenly Revealed that the WB TV Panel Will Show ‘Gotham’ Season 5 Sneak Peek

In May, it seemed at first that Fox had effectively cancelled the highly popular Batman prequel, Gotham. However, at the very last second, Fox saved the show for its final season. Gotham fans got the chance to let out their collective sighs of relief knowing that the show will be able to conclude. The end of season 4 left the show in a cliffhanger as the city devolved into a No Man’s Land state with a new Proto-Joker on the loose.

Gotham fans have been through the wringer of emotions recently. Though WB TV will have a presence at San Diego Comic-Con this year, they didn’t originally announce that they would show anything from Gotham at their panel. Then, the Comic-Con International site might have let an alleged cat of the bag by posting a description of the WB TV panel, mentioning Gotham.

It has since been removed from the website.

Comicbook.com had the foresight to grab a screenshot of the description:

Now, it currently reads:

Comic-Con and Warner Bros. Television proudly continue their annual Preview Night tradition with an exclusive pilot screening of the new series Manifest, plus an advance screening of the following week’s episode of The 100 (“The Dark Year” will air Tuesday, July 24, at 8/7c on The CW) exclusively for the Comic-Con audience. On top of all this, the evening will include a special world premiere of brand-new episodes from season 2 of Freedom Fighters: The Ray, which will later stream on CW Seed.

Either it was made to be a surprise and SDCC ruined it… or there really won’t be any sneak peek of Gotham.

Sorry, Gotham fans, but it’s more likely the latter.

The sleuths at Comicbook.com found that executive producer, Danny Cannon revealed in an Instagram post that season 5 will begin filming on July 23rd, which is the day AFTER SDCC ends.

Shooting begins July 23rd

So no, it doesn’t seem likely that they will show a sneak peek that day.

But we’ll know more later this month, folks. For those of you who will be in attendance of Comic-Con this year, let us know!
