‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer Recut Into a Somber Tone

After being out for almost a year, Suicide Squad  continues to be a divisive movie among fans. Some people complained that the tone was wild and frantic and weirdly haphazard at times. Perhaps a more serious tone could have been used. Perhaps the Joker could have been the main antagonist instead of the Enchantress? A recent recut trailer gives a preview of what could have been a very different movie.

As one can see, the trailer downplays the madcap aspects of the movie in favor of a more grounded, serious approach. It also emphasizes Ben Affleck’s scenes, despite him making only a brief cameo in the actual film. It is interesting how editing certain elements can make the movie present very differently. Maybe a more realistic, gritty vibe is what Suicide Squad 2 needs in order to quell the movie’s detractors.

Suicide Squad is now available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and Digital Download.
