LEGO Batman Taking Over Television

LEGO Batman has invaded the airwaves of the United Kingdom.

Thanks to The Drum, we now know that the overconfident hero (voiced by Will Arnett) will be making appearances on Channel 4 in the U.K. in a deal to help promote the movie. For us U.S. folks who don’t get that channel, here’s a teaser video to build the hype.

Awesome.

The Deal

The first ad will air at 4.45pm Thursday, 2 February, followed by 18 specially scripted and animated intros for peak time Channel 4 shows across the four days, in more than 40 ad spots. His airing will go back and forth with the channel’s current announcer. Also, Batman will get to brag about how good he is.

Martin Gough, the deputy marketing director at Warner Bros. UK is enthusiastic about the deal.

“We are delighted to be able to bring Lego Batman’s hilarity to life in such a contextually perfect and high-profile platform as Channel 4’s peak time schedule. Whilst this partnership might not land him a full-time job as a continuity announcer anytime soon, I’m sure it will make a big impact in the run-up to the launch of the movie.”

This is just the latest deal WB has made including LEGO Batman. You may remember a few weeks ago when Chevrolet built a life-size LEGO Batmobile.

The LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters on February 10. The film stars the voice talents of Will Arnett (Batman), Michael Cera (Robin), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl/Barbara Gordon), Ralph Fiennes (Alfred), Zach Galifianakis (The Joker) and many more.
