NYCC 2016: DC Entertainment Announces ‘Batman ’66’ and ‘Wonder Woman ’77’ Crossover Title

More and more big comic book news is rolling out of New York Comic-Con this weekend.

DC Entertainment held a Wonder Woman 75th Anniversary panel, it was announced that Adam West’s Batman will be meeting Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman in a new Digital First miniseries in what looks to be a match made in heaven. In the Batman ’66 world, DC has already treated us to Batman ’66 Meets the Man from U.N.C.L.E. as well as Batman ’66 Meets the Green Hornet.

Jeff Parker, who was the first series writer to bring the Batman ’66 comic book series to life, will be co-writing alongside Marc Andreyko, who wrote the Wonder Woman ’77 comic book series back in 2015.

Of the series, Andreyko said, “The story we’re spinning spans thirty years as these two legendary Super Heroes fight an ancient evil across the decades. We’ve planned lots of twists, cameos and surprises along the way that fans of both series will appreciate.”

As a digital series, Batman ’66 Meets Wonder Woman ’77 will have 12 issues and will launch on November 23rd, while the print series will be 6 issues and will be released  in January.

I honestly don’t know how they can possibly top this one. These two live-action interpretations have remained many fans’ favorite iterations of these timeless characters. As Batfans, we are already aware of the massive undying love for Adam West and Burt Ward as the Dynamic Duo. With Gal Gadot’s first live-action Wonder Woman since Lynda Carter’s interpretation, people have been fondly remembering Carter’s iconic spin transformation from Diana Prince to Wonder Woman.

This is going to be a good one. Make sure to download your copy on November 23rd.
