Last week on DKN I spoke of a Wondercon panel in which DC allegedly made mention of a sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us that will supposedly arrive in 2015. However, I also pointed out that nobody in the room could agree on what was said.
Some folks over at IGN have noticed that Ed Boon (creator of Mortal Kombat) of NetherRealm Studios has been posting some riddles on his Twitter feed that have numerical answers. They apparently form a countdown that will end June 2, which isn’t long before the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles (E3). In case you are wondering, E3 will run June 10-12.
It’s highly possibly that the big reveal will indeed be Injustice 2, but it could actually be the next Mortal Kombat game, which Kiefer Sutherland has confirmed involvement in. My honest opinion is that NetherRealm is currently working on both titles and both may possibly arrive in the next year or two. I highly doubt WB wants the Injustice franchise to remain inactive for long. Time will tell which one will be announced first.
