Today early cover art was released for the upcoming animated film Batman: Assault on Arkham. The term “early” piqued my curiosity because that’s not something we hear often when it comes to this line of films. Perhaps it will get a bit more polish or a different logo will be added. I was surprised that a logo similar to the ones of the games wasn’t used; there’s a continuing theme.
WB has not released any official details, but I can tell you that it takes place two years prior to the events of the Arkham Asylum video game. It sees Batman and the Suicide Squad working the same case from opposite ends as they race to defuse bombs Joker planted throughout Gotham. Kevin Conroy and Troy Baker return to voice Batman and Joker, respectively. A vague Summer 2014 release date has been given. Below you can view artwork for both DVD and Blu-Ray Combo Pack formats.
