‘Gotham’ Casts The Riddler

It seems that Warner Bros. and Fox TV Studios have picked the perfect day to announce that casting of The Riddler for the upcoming TV series, Gotham. I can assure of with 100% certainty that this is NOT an April Fools’ joke. Cory Michael Smith (Carol, Camp X-Ray) will be the first actor since Jim Carrey in 1995’s Batman Forever to play the iconic villain in a live action role.

According to Entertainment Weekly: “Nygma is a brilliant young forensic scientist working for Gotham PD and a penchant for speaking in … rather cryptic language. Inquisitive, eccentric and outgoing — yet socially awkward — he wants to be liked, but he doesn’t quite know how.”

Smith will play a role in the pilot episode with an option to return as a series regular. Stay tuned to Dark Knight News, for images of this character will no doubt turn up soon. Gotham airs this fall on Fox.
