In a couple of tweets from late last week and this week, Vampire Diaries star Steven McQueen has strongly hinted that he’s been cast or in the process of being cast as the former Robin, Nightwing (aka Dick Grayson) on the CW’s Arrow. Nightwing scuttlebutt has taken the internet by storm since it’s been rumored that the character will appear in Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Batman vs. Superman (Man of Steel 2).

Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen on Arrow) has made it clear that other DC heroes will appear on the show this season (other than already announced Black Canary and the Flash) on his Facebook and twitter accounts. With the League of Assassins and Ra’s al Ghul playing a role in the show, a Batman family member’s inclusion wouldn’t surprise anyone.
What’s making this even more interesting is DC Entertainment being coy on the connections of the DC TV Universe and the DC Movie-verse started with Man of Steel (available on Blu Ray and DVD today 11/12).
Of the actors rumored to be in consideration for the role of Dick Grayson in Batman vs. Superman, Steven McQueen certainly looks the part (Adam Driver is not an ideal choice at all). For now, file this under speculation and not rumor (for Arrow and not the Man of Steel follow up). Keep checking back at Dark Knight News for further updates on this and other casting rumors.
