10 THINGS FOR THE JUSTICE MOVIE

I think it is safe to say that we are all anticipating the Justice League movie more than anything. We’re all theorizing who would be good actors for the characters as well as who the hell is going to direct it (not Ben Affleck). Paul Romano from Comic Book Movie came up with ten things that he would like to see in the Justice League movie. I agree with some of them, but I’m really interested in what your opinions are. Here’s the list:

1. Feature A Darker/More Grounded Tone.

Trying to follow Christopher Nolan’s portrayal of realism especially, when comic book writer, Mark Millar stated that the Justice League script was “dark and mature” (rumor). Warner Bros. is looking for a realistic director for the league, which is why they chose Ben Affleck.

2. Don’t Be As Colorful As The Avengers.

Unlike Avengers, Justice League is more about a serious tone that is grittier. If there needs to be humor it could come from Flash and Green Lantern. The movie shouldn’t be too light-hearted or comic book-y.

3. Focus On Continuity Begun By Man Of Steel And Green Lantern.

Man of Steel is “supposed” to be the jump off point for the Justice League. Basically, Henry Cavill (Superman actor) must come back for Justice League. If possible, Romano is fine with Ryan Reynolds. For right now, Reynolds is the only current Green Lantern unless there should be a reboot of the character with a different actor.

 4. Don’t Include Cyborg As A Part Of The Lineup.

Romano is not a fan of Cyborg because he has trouble identifying him as a Justice League member. Cyborg is more of a Teen Titan member.

5. Include The Proper Villain(s).

Darkseid is a proper villian, but too close to an alien invasion like Avengers. Possibly, Lex Luthor from the Injustice: Gods Among Us would be a good fit. More or less, the choice must be different and  good fit that will make the movie believable.

6. Take Inspiration From Both “The New 52” And The Justice League Animated Series.

The New 52’s should be good inspiration for script writing or story plot to draw from. The animated series also has good storytelling and it gives great story plots better than The New 52′s.

7. Properly Develop Each Character.

Each character must be given their shared time on screen for good development. So, there shouldn’t be too many characters. The ones that are best to get on screen are Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Flash, and Aquaman.

8. Don’t Introduce Green Arrow Right Away.

Since Green Arrow is getting his own TV show, it is possible that this character might be in the Justice League movie. Also, Green Arrow is similar to Hawkeye in the Avengers so his addition would be “a been there done that.”

9. Don’t Make A  S.H.I.E.L.D.-Like Organization Form The Team.

The Avengers came together due to the government putting them together. Justice League should avoid that at all cost. This is where The New 52’s might be a good comic book to reference from. In The New 52’s Justice League, Geoff Johns (writer) places the heroes as just meeting each other for the first time and fighting together to save the world.

10. Don’t Rush The Movie’s Development.

The Justice League movie has a writer and it should not be rushed because of the increasingly popularity of The Avengers. It should take some time to develop a good script. The success of The Avengers is solely based on the fact that they took their time to make their success. Warner Bros. may not be as patient, which could be their downfall especially now.

I think I might save my opinions for this Justice League movie for another rainy day until then, theorize and comment below about what you think of Romano’s editorial.
