Review Roundup: Batman Beyond #15, Batman ’66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel #2 & More

Batman Beyond #15

Writer: Dan Jurgens

Artist: Bernard Chang

Once you’re done admiring that nice nod to the Batman Beyond animated series’ intro on the cover of this month’s issue, brace yourself for one HUGE twist involving Rewire. I mean, like, earth-shatteringly huge. Dan Jurgens is just showing off as this makes for one hell of a page turner. I can’t wait to read next month’s finale and then see what the new Rebirth title will bring.

Batman ’66  Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel #2

Writer: Ian Edginton

Artist: Matthew Dow Smith

This is really an issue for those who always loved the complicated Batman/Catwoman romance in the TV series. A most unexpected villain enters the fray, yet fits well with this particular story. Be sure to also keep your eyes peeled for a nice nod to Batman Forever in this pitch perfect marriage of mystery and comedy.

Injustice Gods Among Us: Year Five #15

Writer: Brian Buccellato

Artist: Xermanico

Injustice continues to showcase the talents of artists who may not be as well known. In this case, Xermanico breathes life into a violent donnybrook involving Black Adam and Superman.

Another strength of this issue is the balancing of the many characters found within. For example, Hawkman and Mongul nearly steal the show at one point. And, of course, the latest exploits of the Bat Family make for another exhilarating read.
