Sebastian Stan is Reportedly in Talks for ‘The Batman Part II’

Marvel star Sebastian Stan maybe joining his MCU co-star Scarlett Johansson in The Batman Part II.

Stan allegedly is in talks to star as Harvey Dent. Since the news reported Scarlett Johansson will play Gilda Dent (or Gold- her maiden name), rumors that Harvey Dent will be in the movie skyrocketed . However, there seems to be extra confirmations that Stan will play the Gotham City District Attorney.

How Likely Sebastian Stan Will Play Harvey Dent?

For one thing, Gotham City needs a new DA since the last one blew up in the middle of The Batman.

Additionally, Stan’s hairstylist posted images of art with Stan as Two-Face on X. However, those images are now taken down. To more lend more credence to the rumors, industry insider Jeff Sneider reported that director Matt Reeves was looking to cast for the Harvey Dent character. Sneider’s report coincides with the rumor of Stan talking with the film’s producers.

More recently, Sneider went on the podcast “The Hot Mic” to talk even more about The Batman Part II. The Dent family is the focus of the movie. Apparently Reeves is on the hunt for an older male actor to play Harvey’s father.

More Rumors of the Plot

As reported previously, a good fan guess is that the sequel’s plot will be adapted from The Long Halloween graphic novel which does actually feature Harvey and Gilda Dent, as well as Harvey’s father. However, Sneider reports that the film will be based on an amalgamation of different popular Batman stories. That is par for the course. The original The Batman film took elements from TLH, in addition to Zero Year and Ego- then mashed them together with the story of the real-life Zodiac Killer.

As many comic book aficionados may already know, Sebastian Stan is best-known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of movies as Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier. Despite boasting of the most MCU appearances, Stan has also done dramatic roles in movies like The Martian and The Apprentice. However, the fact that Stan may also join former MCU Black Widow actress Johansson would be highly serendipitous.

The Batman Part II will start production in spring 2026 and will hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
