Review by James Attias
Detective Comics #1103 really puts the detective work in! Great Ceaser’s ghost!
Game Recognises Game
Metropolis the city that never sleeps! The home of two of the best investigative journalists in the fictional world. But The Dark Knight doesn’t need the one with a cape. Lois Lane, in the last 5 years I have to say has been written better then most DC characters, her as editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, as Superwoman and as the best reporter in DC comics history. Our story takes an infected Batman, with broken ribs and a broken face to ask her for help. Their relationship, especially with Bruce on the clock; infected with this virus that removes all fear. The dialogue is wonderful! Not to mention a new villain being introduced that isn’t a flash in the pan. Can’t wait to read more.
Appreciation
Tom Taylor and Mikel Janin. It feels like by being awesome all the time it is now expected of them. I’d like to sing both their sweet praises as being consistently awesome. Taylor seems to have picked up the desperately needed torch left by Geoff Johns as being able to make any story both funny and incredibly important as easily as can be. Janin has also now been so consistently magnificent drawing both Batman and Superman that I want to see all of the bat-family, Justice League and more drawn by him.
Conclusion
Detective Comics #1103 is a masterclass of detective storytelling, and I can’t praise it enough.
