DC announced Matt Fraction and Jorge Jimenez’s Batman #1 relaunch is returning for a third printing with a yet another new variant cover, as well as new printings for issue #2.
The third printing of issue #1 will feature two covers. One cover is the original main cover by Jorge Jiménez but with a new logo treatment. This time, the “Batman” logo is in sweet black and yellow. The previous second printing sported a cool grey and white trade dress.
Additionally, DC will release the third printing cardstock variant cover by Nick Dragotta. Not to be outdone, Absolute Batman artist Dragotta is homaging his own work on Absolute Batman #1, but this time with the mainstream DC Universe of the Dark Knight. You gotta admit, this variant cover looks pretty sweet if you frame it next to the Absolute Batman #1 cover.
The third printing of Batman #1 arrives on December 3rd.
On top of that, issue #2 also will get a second printing. The second printing will feature the same cover as the original printing, but feature another new trade dress color. This time the trade dress is adorned in a bright red and yellow combo. It’s a perfect companion since Robin is a main focus of issue 2.
The second printing of Batman #2 arrives on November 18th.
More Villains to Come in ‘Batman’
Bat-fans have a lot to look forward to in the title. On top of some new twists in issue 3 involving the Riddler, the comic promises new villains for the Dynamic Duo to battle.
The Minotaur will debut as well as a revamped version of Anarky and a mysterious device called the Crown of Storms in Batman #4 this December. Then an assassin character Lady Death Man will come out in Batman #5 this January.
Batman is shaping up to be an insane ride for our Dark Knight.
