Amazon Drops ‘Bat-Fam’ Series Trailer

Amazon Prime uploaded the trailer, images, and poster for the new cartoon series Bat-Fam.

Bat-Fam is the new original animated series for Amazon Kids and Prime Video. The show is a spin-off of the previously released Christmas movie Merry Little BatmanJust like the movie, Bat-Fam follows a middle age, bearded Batman, as well as his kid-age son Damian as they fight crime.

But the trailer shows that it looks like that we are getting some new members of the Bat-family. This includes Alfred’s niece Alicia. We also get a young girl named Claire and her companion Flame- who is an anthropomorphized fire ball. The most weird addition is a retired, old Man-Bat. Of all of the new additional characters, I’d love to know more about Man-Bat’s backstory. Is he still Kirk Langstrom? If so, then why does he seem to be stuck in Man-Bat mode? And why is he living in Wayne Manor now? And what would possess him to wear an old Batman suit?

In addition to the regular cast, it seems that we will be getting some guest stars, like Kalarion the Witch Boy and maybe the ghost of Ra’s Al Ghul?? You can say a lot about this show and its premise, but it does not do the same ol’ Bat-characters as any cartoon.

As far as the villains, we get a mix of traditional rogues gallery members and newer faces. Like, we get the Joker from Merry Little Batman, as well as Clayface, Mad Hatter, Solomon Grundy, and Killer Croc. But we also get rogues that Batman does not typically face, such as Livewire and Killer Frost. I gotta admit, for a show that is set in the future, Killer Frost and Livewire look like they’re still in their prime. Speaking of different villains, it looks like Parademons also make an appearance in one scene? This certainly shaping up to be a weird show.

Bat-Fam hits Amazon Prime Video streaming in US on November 10th.
