“Who Killed Harley Quinn?” – Part Five

Harley Quinn #26 is most certainly the book I’ve been waiting for. What a prize to receive, indeed. If the story hasn’t drawn you in, the covers for this issue absolutely will. I mean A Clockwork Orange homage by Alex Garner? COME ON! That’s just one of the best parts, so let’s dig on in!
Awkward Situations Make Me Gassy
When we last left “our” Harley Quinn, she and Old Lady Harley were dealing with the arrival of a multitude of multiversal Harley Quinns in Gotham, all while trying to stay three steps ahead of The Harley Who Laughs. Our world’s Ms. Quinn is suffering feelings of woe and self pity, but Kevin snaps her back to the true reality of her world.
Given back her courage, Harley calls her team together to capture her counterparts and lure The Harley Who Laughs to them in a situation of their control. The problem with plans however, is that everyone has one. The matter at hand then, is who has the winning one?
Havoc Of Harley
With only one issue left for this story arc, there’s still quite a bit that’s up in the air, even though the conclusion is fast coming. Stephanie Phillips definitely has her hands full with all these different types of Harley personas, as I’m sure the artists did as well. Even with all the different Quinns to showcase, they’re all doing a stellar job. The montage of corralling the Harleys was hilarious.
One of the cool parts of this issue was seeing Pasquale Qualano contributing artwork. Along with covers by Lee Bermejo, Jenny Frison, Leirix, and JonBoy Meyers made for such a fun read. Harley Quinn #26 is definitely an amazing issue, on many levels.
Conclusion
There’s only one more issue before this story’s complete. “Who Killed Harley Quinn?“ has been a wild ride and this latest chapter gives us a deeper look at, not only Harley Quinn’s character development, but we see development with Kevin’s as well. The way he stands up for himself to shock Harley back to herself is wonderful.
Emotions like this are reasons to invest in these stories. Not only are they relatable but between the words and the art, it comes to life. I look forward to seeing the conclusion to this part of Harley’s story.
