The trailer for the next animated movie Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham has hit the internet.
The film preview features Batman and his cast of characters in early 1920’s turn of the century designs, as well as imagery of some truly horrific creatures. The trailer shows off the typical cast of Batman characters, like Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, Ra’s and Talia al Ghul, and Harvey Dent. However, there also appear to be some surprise cameo appearances in the movie, as we get a glimpse of Jason Blood and Etrigan the Demon, Oliver Queen, and maybe the Penguin.

There’s also what looks like an original character in the trailer, too. Viewers can spot an Asian girl named Kai Li Cain. Allegedly, she’s a close ally of Batman’s in the movie. However, what her main role is remains unknown. Cain seems to be a possible alternate universe version of Cassandra Cain.
The film’s based on the classic Elseworlds graphic novel which collects the 2000-2001 three issue mini-series by comics legend Mike Mignola. The story takes place in the 1920s and depicts Batman as a pulp hero adventurer, as he battles against creatures from outside of space and time, as inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos.
Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham hits digital, Blu-Ray, and DVD release on March 28.
