Batman: The Audio Adventures #4 furthers more plots while continuing to introduce new ones.

At this point, we are nearing the end of the mini-series and all the various story threads are starting to formulate as we approach the climax. The Killer Croc and sword narrative is shaping up and we finally see Batman interacting with Waylon Jones. We also see more of this version of Croc’s backstory and the crossover with the villain’s origin is a fun new mix. While it is too early to tell, hopefully, the latest revelations will inform an intriguing conclusion to this story.

There are some other storylines that are advancing in a fun way. Robin’s story shows promise although, once again there doesn’t seem to be an obvious connection to the main plot. So, while it does have an engaging premise, it also feels a little aimless.

Anthony Marques and J. Bone’s art continues to be a visual delight. From the previous issue, the art and writing seem to really hit their stride and gel well. It should be a light, swashbuckling tone and the art reflects it perfectly.

Conclusion

Batman: The Audio Adventures #4 is a fun if breezy comic. The storytelling and art are well-matched and have real forward momentum. It’s still not perfect, as there are still too many characters and storylines that don’t seem to connect. Fortunately, it’s still strong enough to be an enjoyable romp.
