Harley Quinn #25 brings answers to the questions from the revelations of last issue. When last we left her, she’d just learned the identity of her killer – The Harley Who Laughs (THWL). As we soon find out, our dear Harley was the only victim on the villain’s kill list!

The Little Mer-Harley

Fractured between the Then and Now, the issue opens with true joy for fans of this series, giving us the welcome return of Old Lady Harley. Full disclosure, I may have squealed for joy when I stumbled into her arrival as it was absolute perfection. No, I’m not ashamed. Old Harley kicks herself into high gear as The Harley Who Laughs makes her presence known. A fight leads to the heroic version triggering the device that opens the portals to the multiverse… and worlds collide!

With our Harley meeting her Old Lady Harley counterpart, the stakes are raised. A plan to stop THWL could put every variation of Harley in danger, a fresh target on their back, will they be able to put a stop to the villain’s plan? Or will the fabric of the DCU change forever?

Shatter Me

As always, Harley Quinn #25 treats readers to some absolutely stunning covers. From the shattered mirror showcasing different versions of our queen of chaos, a Christmas Harley, a special Spawn edition, and even an armored Harley piece that’s so jaw-dropping that it immediately made me want to reread and watch Elfen Lied. With Matteo Lolli with Rain Beredo, Lee Bermejo, Jenny Frison, Eli Kure, A. I. Kaplan, and Kael Ngu amongst the artists, there’s no way you are losing.

Things are heating up and threatening to bubble over and readers are treated to some amazing artwork and story as we find out what THWL truly has in store. One of my favorite scenes still comes right at the beginning though, with the re-introduction of Old Lady Harley. Surrounded as she is by guns, she still remains as cool as a cucumber. Perfection.

Conclusion

First of all I must say that this arc’s taking twists and turns I could never have predicted and that’s something that I cherish. I genuinely cannot wait to see what is coming for Harley Quinn in the coming issues. Regardless of what it could be, I bet it will be a guaranteed thrill ride for anyone willing to take the leap and enjoy it.
