Batman: Wayne Family Adventures #52-60. The series has returned for Season 2 and it’s as cute, funny and feelsy as always. Released on WebToon every Thursday, they’re a nice short distraction from the day.

Man, Rich People Are Wild

Starting the new season off with some fun, the Bat-Family has declared war on each other, and the only rule is that Batman can’t find out… which goes about as well as you’d expect.

Carrying on the hide-and-seek game, Duke doesn’t listen to Alfred and is on a scavenger hunt for parts of his suit, before people arranging the Gala in the manor can find anything.

Bruce has been forced to take a night off and relax and going to Zatanna’s magic show was probably not a good choice.

Copperhead gets their claws on a magic wand and now Nightwing is a bunny and Batman is Superman. The audience love it, but Dick, ever the optimist, says:

So… okay, this is happening now. I can work with this.

Scarecrow steps in to ruin everyone’s day and mentality with his signature weapon: Fear Gas. Fighting alongside Batman, Red Robin’s gas mask is broken during the fight, and so the Dark Knight sacrifices himself to the villain’s mind games by giving Tim his own gas mask. Haunted by his anxieties and failures, Bruce goes through a rough time before he realizes that none of those obtrusive thoughts are true. He has a family now, people who would never abandon him and be there for him every step of the way. He just needs to learn that his family want to protect him as much as he wants to protect them.

The most recent chapter has Harper return to stop some bullies before spending some time with Steph. She explains what happened that day and a little bit about her brother being picked on, sharing her frustration that as Bluebird, the bullies she beats down keep coming back.

Conclusion

For the first time, I don’t think a short chapter was enough. There were jokes about Steph’s bad taste in music and her taser, but for such a topic, I felt that just one chapter was too short to really show her feelings and thoughts about the situation.
