DC Launches ‘Dawn of DC’ Initiative

DC Comics is launching a new publishing initiative called “Dawn of DC’.

In January 2023, DC will be revamping or relaunching many titles in bold new directions. The initiative starts with January’s Action Comics #1051, featuring a new Super-family team by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Dan Jurgens, and Leah Williams.

The idea is to showcase the heroes after events like Dark Crisis or the upcoming Lazarus Planet. DC publisher and chief creative officer Jim Lee spoke of his excitement about the new directions for characters and new creative teams.

After the near-Multiverse-ending events in Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths and DC Universe: Lazarus Planet, the DC Universe will be heading toward the light. With brand-new series and story arcs from some of the top creative members in comics, Dawn of DC is one of our most ambitious initiatives ever and is a chance for us to tell bigger and bolder stories across our line.

“Dawn of DC” is designed as a jumping-on point for both new readers and longtime fans.
