Preview: Batman: One Bad Day: The Riddler

Last month DC Comics announced a series of one-shot specials featuring the cream of comics talent and starring some of the greatest villains in the Dark Knight’s Rogues’ Gallery. Now we’ve been given a new selection of the covers and the first four pages of Batman: One Bad Day: The Riddler, which is scheduled for an August release.

Edward Nigma is back in a huge way these days. His resurgence owes a little to the fact that he’s the main villain in Matt Reeves’ excellent film, The Batman. The fact that the character will be receiving his own one-shot comic is very welcome, particularly when writer Tom King and artist Mitch Gerads will be reuniting to tell us about the Riddler’s very own “One Bad Day”.

Add to this covers by luminaries such as Brian Bolland (the man who drew the original “One Bad Day” comic, Batman: The Killing Joke), Jim Lee, Mikel Janín, David Marquez, and Gerads himself, whichever variant you pick up is guaranteed to be gorgeous!

Take a look!

Tom King and Mitch Gerads have already given fans some amazing stories featuring the World’s Greatest Detective, mainly in King’s critically run on Batman and they also collaborated on the hugely successful Mister Miracle maxi-series. Seeing them working together again, and on a high-profile graphic novel no less, is a highly welcome occurrence.

Will this book, and the rest of the series, be on your pull list?

I know that it’ll be one seriously bad day if I miss them, that’s for sure!
