Renowned actor Jeremy Irons has revealed his feelings on the much-maligned Joss Whedon cut of Justice League in a recent interview with Variety.
I concur
I don’t mean to be hyperbolic, but I think that most would agree that Justice League was an unmitigated disaster for all involved, a low point in the cinematic arts, and probably the sixth-worst disaster to befall humanity in the past ten years. Even the much-ballyhooed Snyder Cut could only do so much to blot out the yellow stain it left on the carpet of world culture. Now we can confirm that Ozymandias himself, Jeremy Irons, agrees.
At least he got paid
The beloved thespian, who is only one Best Spoken Word Album Grammy away from an EGOT, was brought aboard the production to lend a bit of class as Batman’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth. So, we should all believe him when he intones that Justice League was “dreadful”. It was apparently such a negative experience that Jeremy Irons hasn’t even bothered to watch the Snyder Cut:
Strangely, I think I have it and I haven’t seen it. I shall have to hunt it out and see if I have it somewhere online or on a DVD. I remember talking to Zack [Snyder] before he did it and being very interested to see what he came up with…. It [Justice League] couldn’t have been worse.
Yeah, he sounds like he’s in a real hurry to devote four hours of his life to watching the movie, and he actually knows Zack Snyder! Just another sad reminder of the epic failure that was the theatrical cut.
