The hilarious Super Sons are to be reunited once again, after some life-changing events, in Superman & Robin Special #1! After someone from Jon’s past returns, he’ll need his oldest friend’s help for “one last mission into the heart of darkness”.
You may have heard the recent news that has taken the internet by storm, about Jon Kent coming out as bisexual in Superman: Son of Kal-El #5, set to release November 9th. Many fans of the duo have expressed their desire to see Damian showing his support for his best friend, especially after his brother Tim Drake (Red Robin) recently came out as being bi too.
While DC doesn’t outright say it’ll be addressed in the story, the publisher does say that the now grown-up Jon is fighting for truth, justice, “and the kinds of grown-up things that Superboy was only beginning to understand as a child.”
The special is written by Peter J. Tomasi, the writer of Super Sons, Adventures of the Super Sons, and Super Sons of Tomorrow. The 48-page one-shot, Superman & Robin Special #1, will go on sale on January 25 is illustrated by Viktor Bogdanovic, with variant covers by Jorge Jimenez and Rafa Sarmento.
