The Bat-Family is made up of so many people with such different personalities, but we haven’t really gotten to see much of what happens behind closed doors, until Batman: Wayne Family Adventures! Released every Thursday on WebToon, Family Adventures is made of short, light chapters, that show Batman’s many “children” (and the Dark Knight himself) living their normal day-to-day lives, which usually involves getting into different kinds of trouble… but hey! Justice runs in the family.

Batman needs a break, but with new vigilante Duke Thomas moving into Wayne Manor, and an endless supply of adopted, fostered and biological superhero children to manage, Bruce Wayne’s going to have his hands full. Being a father can’t be harder than being Batman, right?

Welcome To The Family

Each chapter has a different plot, introducing readers slowly to the characters and shenanigans they get up to. We see more of the aftermath of the crime fighting than the fighting itself, not that that makes it any less interesting to read. The moments between most characters can be wholesome, like Barbara teaching Damian to read while Bruce is out of town. Or just letting The Signal in on their family traditions after a job well-done.

Bright, colourful and easy on the eyes, the art for this web comic is lovely. It’s also clear to see that the creators pay attention to the small details too. From Bruces’ “Worlds Okayest Father” mug to all the many personalities that make these characters the vigilantes we love, you get what you expected in all of them. They all clearly look like that hero they’re meant to be as well, in and out of their well-drawn outfits.

Conclusion

If you want to take a break and read something light and pure, I highly suggest giving Batman: Wayne Family Adventures a go. My only criticism is that the chapters aren’t long enough and there aren’t enough of them, but I’m sure everyone says stuff like that about things they like. It would also be amazing if they could get could get in touch with the TikTok user, PandaRedd, and make PG comics out some of the skits that he does. Maybe that’s something for the future though.

I’m going to be looking forward to the new chapter every week. Join me soon for the another review of the next couple chapters!
