Batman Beyond Fine Art Prints Announced by Sideshow Collectibles

Sideshow Collectibles have announced two brand new Batman Beyond fine art prints based on variant comic book covers. Each print is a giclee on paper 18×24 portrait unframed, and both feature authorized, automated artist’s signatures, and an embossed seal of authenticity.

The first fine art print is by Ben Oliver and was originally created as a variant cover for Batman Beyond issue #31. This is a limited edition, where only 350 pieces have been created.

The print features Batman with his defined jawline and furrowed brow, in black, white, and grey tones with a red circuit overlay and red Bat symbol. A light shines on the right side adding more definition to the profile and pointed ears. The overlay of red circuitry is reminiscent of the high-tech designs of Terry Mcginnis’ Batman Beyond Bat-suit.

I really like the dark tones of this print, particularly the bright red Bat symbol, but I’m not overly keen on the red circuit overlay. Personally, I think it looks like a subway rail map, and it hurts my eyes when I look at it. That’s just my personal opinion, and I’m sure other people will feel very differently. This is really the only downside for me, other than that I think this is a really great print, and I’m positive that fans of Batman / DC comics will love it.

The second print is by Francis Manapul and was originally created as a variant cover for Batman Beyond #37. This print is also a limited edition of 375.

This piece features Batman in his red and black-winged Bat-suit, looming over a neon green Gotham skyline. The print is highlighted in some areas, which add definition to Batman’s muscular form, although the face isn’t as defined as in the first print.

I really love the colors, and I  think the black and red stand out really well against the neon green skyline of the background.

Both these beautiful prints are highly detailed, gorgeous works of art, although I do prefer the second, bolder, and more colorful print by Francis Manapul, again that is just my opinion and I’m sure others will feel differently.

Both prints are available to pre-order on Sideshow.com and are both priced at £71.06 / $95
