‘Harley Quinn’ Animated Series to Get Comic Book “Missing Chapter” Between Season 2 and 3

While we await Season 3 of the Harley Quinn animated series, it looks like DC has seen it fit to bless fans with a comic book continuation of the popular adult cartoon. The book, titled Harley Quinn: The Animated Series – The Eat, Bang, Kill Tour, will bridge the time gap between Season 2 and Season 3.

The six-issue series will be written by Tee Franklin with art by Max Sarin. The series is set to hit shelves on September 14. It’ll be released around the same time as the third season, which is expected to premiere in late 2021 to early 2022. With a title like that, it sounds like HarlIvy is going to have quite a good time.

Animated HarlIvy gets their own comic book continuation!

Here’s the synopsis for the series:

Harley and Ivy on the road trip of the century! Following the wedding disaster of the decade, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy end up on the run from Commissioner Gordon and the GCPD! But as fun as all that sounds, Ivy still worries over leaving Kite Man at the altar… Luckily, Harley’s got the perfect scheme to shake her out of her wedding-day blues!

Sounds like a blast! However, I will point out one error: Ivy didn’t leave Kite Man at the altar. In one of Kite Man’s rare moments of clarity, he chose not to go through with the nuptials, because he knew Ivy wasn’t actually in love with him. Personally, while I loved that Harley finally got with Ivy, I was devastated by the collateral damage to Kite Man. Chuck Brown is one of my favorite characters. Yeah, he’s dim-witted, but nobody deserves to get their heart broken. Regardless, it seems like we’ll be getting another insane adventure with Harley.

Be sure to grab your copies come September.

Are you excited for the comic book continuation of the Harley Quinn animated series?
