‘The Batman’ Wraps Filming

That’s a wrap! The Batman director and writer Matt Reeves took to Twitter to announce that the Robert Pattinson lead film has completed filming.

To say The Batman has had quite the production journey would be an understatement. Much like the rest of the world, production was first delayed almost one year ago exactly, due to COVID-19. What was initially meant to be a two-week pause turned into a months long quarantine.

3 days after production resumed in September, it came to a screeching halt again when Robert Pattinson tested positive for COVID. This caused the film to shut down for another two weeks while he isolated himself.

The Batman would get hit with the pandemic once again in February 2021, when Pattinson’s stunt double tested positive. Forced to isolate for ten days, the film was shut down for a third time thanks to COVID.

Thanks to all the production delays, the film’s release date was pushed from October 1, 2021 to March 4, 2022.

Fortunately for fans, the wait definitely looks like it is going to be worth it. Matt Reeves debuted the film’s first, and only, trailer in August during the DC FanDome event. You can even catch the Dark Knight News team’s initial thoughts on the trailer.

Things are definitely starting to turnaround in a positive way in the world. COVID-19 vaccines are becoming available and are effective. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is less than a week away, and The Batman has officially wrapped filming.

And now a live look at Matt Reeves:
