Two New Skins Added To ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’

Article by Chris Foti

It may have been five and a half years since Batman: Arkham Knight was released, but the game is still getting updates. In the spirit of the holiday season, Rocksteady released a free update that includes two new skins: “Anime Batman” and the “Batman of Zur-En-Arrh.”

Who Are These Batmen?

Now, for a little history on these two pretty obscure skins added to the game. Batman of Zur-En-Arrh was first introduced in Batman #113. Zur-En-Arrh is another planet in which Batman discovered he has Superman-like powers. In 2006, Grant Morrison rebooted this idea for modern readers. Instead of another planet, Batman of Zur-En-Arrh is a backup personality for Batman, should his mind ever be compromised. It’s a Batman without a Bruce Wayne.

Anime Batman is from the story “Field Test” in the animated movie Batman: Gotham Knight. This movie consisted of 6 short stories, each with different animation styles, that loosely connect to Batman’s journey between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

Batman: Arkham Knight is the final chapter in Rocksteady’s Batman trilogy, and the fourth in the Arkham series. WB Montreal made the loose prequel game, Batman: Arkham Origins. WB Montreal is currently working on Batman: Gotham Knights set in a separate continuity, while Rocksteady is continuing the Arkham series with Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

Are you still playing Batman: Arkham Knight? Do you like these new skins? Let us know!
