Preview: Doomsday Clock #12

Article by Adam Poncharoensub

Two years ago, this week, DC embarked on an incredibly ambitious crossover tale that encompasses many universes and continuities. We’ve seen past Crises create and destroy multiverses in the past, but they seem minor in comparison to how Doomsday Clock has pretty much deconstructed all DC universes and continuities. As we march toward the end of 2019, so too does DC march towards what is being billed as the end of the DC Universe as we know it. Issue 12, the finale of Doomsday Clock, is almost upon us, and to help hype the hotly anticipated conclusion, we have our first look at Doomsday Clock #12.

As of issue #11, chaos has ensued all over the world with seemingly no hope left for peace. Superman awakens from his coma and flies to meet with the President. There, he finds Dr. Manhattan, who has been waiting for him. The stage is set for what appears to be a showdown between these titans.

Take a look at the press release below:

Can even the Man of Steel walk out from under the shadow of Manhattan?

This is it! The final showdown between Dr. Manhattan and Superman shakes up the DC Universe to its very core! The conclusion to Geoff Johns, Gary Frank, Brad Anderson and Rob Leigh’s Doomsday Clock hits shelves December 18th!

Unfortunately, our glimpses are brief; a few panels with Bats and Rorschach, a few variant covers, and one page featuring Supes and Manhattan. Fuelled by anger, Superman winds up for an incredibly powerful blow, as Dr. Manhattan surrenders himself to the punch. This is it, the moment that fans have been waiting for since November of 2017. Two years of waiting for this singular moment. What will happen when Dr. Manhattan takes a hit from Superman?

Will this be the end of the DC Universe? Is this the start something new and different? Will we get all the answers that we wanted? Unfortunately, we’ll have to find out later next month. Stay tuned for our review here at DKN.

Doomsday Clock #12 hits everything on December 18.
