“Lost in the Multiverse” – Part Two

It’s finally here! Young Justice #8 took forever to get here, but it really did not disappoint.
Still stuck in the Multiverse, the young heroes find themselves in the thick of things on Earth-3, home of the Crime Syndicate of Amerika. The heroes of Young Justice are having to fight off their evil counterparts. With the likes of Amaxon Thunder, Luthor-El, Speed Zone, Hack, Hex and Drake, the young heroes find themselves on the retreat.
It seems like some of the team have been split from the others… and that ending! I hope that the next issue doesn’t take as long as this one did to come out!
Someone Needs A Multiverse Map
After the events of the last issue, in which the group jumped from universe to universe trying to get home, it was nice to see them in just one reality this time. Although a multiverse map is joked at quite a lot in this issue, it might actually be handy in helping the team get home!
What I loved about this story were the evil counterparts. Amaxon Thunder is so far out of Wonder Girl’s league, and that’s easy to see in the first few panels. Luthor-El doesn’t hold a candle to Superboy however, who comes in and cuts loose. Speed Force has nothing on Impulse’s ability to do the unexpected, but my favorites have to got to be Drake and Hex.
Drake just exudes this arrogance about him that, quite honestly, fits Damian Wayne more than Tim. Then there’s Hex, who seems to know more about what Jinny has in her trunk than Jinny does!
Conclusion
Young Justice #8 is yet another stellar issue from Brian Bendis and the crew. What I love most is the way that Bendis has made the heroes feel like a team, without really making them one. They’re still all very much a group of heroes thrown together.
The way the writer sets his stories up is honestly a joy to read. There are probably threads in this issue that will come into play much later on. John Timms does a brilliant job at drawing this issue, too. I love the action pieces between the characters, showcasing their powers and abilities. My absolute favorite, is when Red Robin and Drake are fighting each other, those panels are just beautiful!
Please don’t make me wait another two months for the next issue. Please!
