‘Dark Nights: Metal’ Batman Statue Coming From DC Collectibles

Article by Eric Lee

DC Collectibles have unveiled a Batman and Baby Darkseid statue, as seen in Dark Nights: Metal.

The statue is based on the DC event comic Metal by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. It is complete with a baby Darkseid, fully depicting the scene from Metal where Batman carried baby Darkseid on his chest.

Baby Darkseid

Not to be outdone, Batman rocks a cute set of Bat-night goggles on his head. The collectible is rendered in the style of Capullo and stands a little over 6 inches tall. You can tell that this is made for fans over the over-the-top crazy pants Batman. Just check out the sensational official description of the product from DC’s website.

Rocking into our world from the pages of Dark Nights: Metal is DC’s most powerful villain. Except this time he’s a little different. Emphasis on little. In the twisting, nightmare-and-rock-and-roll-infused plot of Metal, Scott Snyder has the Dark Knight capture the newborn Darkseid to shoot himself back through time. In a series known for wild moments, this may be the craziest and most Metal moment of the whole story.

Statue Features

Djordje Djokovic sculpted the statue out of polyresin. Batman has two facial expression options: mouth closed and growling with his mouth open. The baby Darkseid and Bat-night goggles are also detachable. But honestly, then it will be just a boring, normal Batman statue. And why deny yourself baby Darkseid? Baby Darkseid is.

Artist Capullo certainly agrees that Baby Darkseid is the best feature. Check out his response on Twitter.

The statue is available for pre-order and retails at $85. July 2019 is the release date.
