‘Titans’ Season 2 Reported to Start Filming in March

DC Universe’s Titans was a bit of a interesting experiment into crafting a gritty, adult comic book show on a lower budget. In my personal opinion, the show failed in more aspects than it succeeded. Don’t get me wrong, there are moments where the show shined, but they are so few and far between that it’s pretty hard to defend.

In most inaugural seasons of any series, it had the intimidating task of introducing the characters and creating the universe. Therefore, it’s hard to judge a series just based on the first season. For instance, the most watched show on Netflix is US version of The Office. It has become one of the most iconic sitcoms in recent history, but that first season is a tough watch! However, there are some shows like The Flash and Young Justice, both of which had outstanding first seasons.

I tried my hardest to give Titans the benefit of the doubt, but a fairly weak story and character development make it a very hard sell. While the first season finale was extremely entertaining, it left a lot of be desired for a season finale. Overall, I felt pretty shortchanged a conclusive ending. I know that I’m in the minority here, but that’s my opinion.

“Cause I’m as free as a bird now, and this bird you cannot change”

However, it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait too long for more Titans. The production blog, Hollywood Buzz, has revealed that Season 2 of Titans, will begin production on March 20th, ending on September 6th. Season 2 is currently sporting the working title of “Freebirds” and will apparently introduce Connor Kent’s Superboy and Krypto. While I appreciate more characters, I think it’s best to develop the main members of the team first before branching off with new members.

Anyway, if we are to believe this production blog, we should be seeing some set photos sometime this Spring through to the Summer. There is currently no premiere date for season 2. However I’m estimating that we’ll likely see a Summer or Fall 2020 release.

What did you think of the first season of Titans? Are you excited about Season 2? Let me know.

Titans is currently streaming on DC Universe in the US and on Netflix outside of the US. Stay tuned to DKN for more updates on Titans.
