Gotham’s proto-Joker Cameron Monaghan has taken to Twitter, playfully teasing Joaquin Phoenix’s version of the Joker.
The actor posted a gif of Mister Rogers putting on a clown mask that resembles Phoenix’s Joker make-up.

I mean, when you look at it, the resemblance is fairly striking. The picture is especially similar to the recent Joker photos. Is it possible that Mr. Rogers is the real Joker? That twist certainly would put a new spin on the concept.

While Gotham is gearing up for its fifth and final season, Monaghan is in the midst of promoting it. The actor has posted a brief tease of Jeremiah, the man destined to become the Joker.

The image doesn’t say much, but it certainly gives a creepy vibe with Jeremiah’s profile in stark, harsh lighting. It’s still not known how much of a role Jeremiah will play in Gotham‘s final season, which promises a “No Man’s Land” inspired story arc where chaos reigns.
Gotham season five will premiere in early 2019.
