Is ‘Gotham’ Bringing In “The” Joker for Its Final Season?

Will the actual factual Joker be joining the Gotham cast?

If there is one rumor I hope to be true it is definitely this one folks. From the beginning of the Gotham series we’ve watched the young Bruce Wayne becoming who he is destined to be. We have also waited in heavy anticipation for Mr. J to be introduced, getting fan service along the way with a bevy of different characters from that universe brought to screen in previously unseen and surprising new ways. Meeting the character meant to be Joker has been at the forefront of fans’ minds since the beginning. If this is the culmination of the five season series then I am all in.

The cast of Fox’s Gotham was missing from this year’s SDCC but for a great reason, this week marks them  as back in the studio to begin production on the show’s fifth and final season. Thankfully through an interview with Bruce himself, actor David Mazouz, we get a glimpse of what is to come.

Bruce is going to have that realization this year, he’s going to have that moment, and he’s gonna also show down with some of the villains that we know. Some of the big names. And one of those names might start with a ‘J.’

Now, this is not the first time that Joker has been hinted at in the series. There have been two ringers for the elusive Crown Prince of Crime, but neither has taken the crown. Back in the fledgling season of Gotham we met the character of Jerome Valeska, a very troubled kid. After a slew of stories ranging from resurrection and facial reconstruction, Jerome was killed. His even more troubled brother Jeremiah came in to take over and while he may be lacking his brother’s candor, he makes up for it in other ways.

Jeremiah and Bruce have already butted heads in the show and it is not a stretch of the imagination to assume they will meet again in the new season. Whether or not Jeremiah will be dabbling in face paint remains to be seen, but I for one have my fingers crossed that it will be in an all-out blaze of glory if he does.

With all the Joker projects currently in the works, we may see more use of the many monikers for the Devil who dances in the pale Moonlight.

Gotham is set to air on Fox in 2019, many speculate who we will meet from the plethora of villains in the Bat World.

With all that being said, what are you looking forward to most with the final season? What are your guesses to what may be coming for the Caped Crusader? Stay tuned for more from us here at Dark Knight News.
