Zazie Beetz In Talks To Be In The Joaquin Phoenix Stand Alone Joker Film

Zazie Beetz,  one of the stars from Deadpool 2 and the TV series Atlanta, may be coming over from Marvel to DC. At least that’s what was running through the rumor mill yesterday.

If a deal is reached, that’s another amazing actor added to the roster of the stand alone Joker movie, which has a preliminary release date set for October 2019.

If rumours can be believed, Zazie could be playing a single mother who catches the eye of Mr. J in his earlier days, before The Clown Prince of Crime existed.

As an actress one of her more recognized roles is Vanessa in the series Atlanta.

Recently Zazie beautifully portrayed the role of Domino in Deadpool 2 (2018).

With many projects before her, I, for one, am hoping that this is one of the roles she takes on.

Many of the finer details are still locked behind closed doors, but the rumored darker and edgier tone of the flick has me counting my money, at the ready for when tickets go on sale.

From the few descriptions we’ve had of the movie so far, we will be seeing a more personal side to the Joker.  I am hoping with this will be sold as a gritty look at the man who becomes the villain… something along the lines of Sin City or No Country for Old Men.

While I love the fun and antics of movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool, I prefer it when they delve into the core of the characters, when we get to see what happens and why certain paths are taken. What decisions brought them to the point where we know them best. I love a good backstory, especially one with a twist.

Keep an eye on Dark Knight News for more details as they become available. I know I will be chomping at the bit to see where this may lead.

Are you curious to see more of Joaquin Phoenix and Zazie Beetz? Are you excited to see these two actors play opposite each other on the big screen? Who are you hoping to see join the cast?

Let us know.
