Fox Renews ‘Gotham’ for Fifth and Final Season

Over the last week, TV networks began making their announcements on which shows will continue and which shows will not. With several TV series closing out their latest season that began in the Fall, it’s time for the networks to analyze which shows did well in the ratings. It’s been a pretty nerve-racking experience for fans hearing some of their favorite shows being cancelled. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine journey was surely a roller coaster for viewers. It was only yesterday that cartoon fans got the news that highly popular shows like Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers were coming back.

Noticeably missing was Gotham. Nobody knew whether the show would be cancelled or renewed… until a few hours ago.

Gotham is safe again

Gotham has been renewed for their fifth season… which will also be its last. It’s being reported that this final season will see young Bruce’s transformation into the Batman that will eventually defend Gotham city. It’s something that Gotham seemed to be leaning heavily towards over the course of season 4. Unlike a lot of TV series, Gotham has the opportunity to carry out and successfully close out their series.

As of now, there is no current episode count for the season, but I’m sure we’ll learn that soon enough.

Hopefully, we’ll get to see more Jeremiah in the next season. That’s presuming he survives at the end of this one.

Gotham airs on Thursdays at 8PM EST on Fox.
