C2E2: Voice Actor for Aqualad Announces ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’ has Finished Recording

Young Justice season two ended on the mother of all cliff-hangers. For those not caught up, spoilers follow.

Season 2 finished with Vandal Savage, the big bad over the first two seasons of the show, meeting with Darkseid on Apokolips. That’s the last scene we saw in Young Justice, a show that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I was absolutely crushed when the show was cancelled. Then, when it was announced that there would be a season 3, I was overjoyed. This series was akin to the original Teen Titans from the early 2000s, also a show I loved. There have been trickles of information released over the last year or so. Including the name reveal of the new series; Young Justice: Outsiders.

Payton’s Progress

During a panel at Chicago’s C2E2, Khary Payton, the voice of Aqualad on Young Justice, revealed information about the progression on the show.

“We’ve already recorded all 26 episodes,” Payton revealed. “We’re just waiting for the animation to come back. I’ve already seen some of it. It looks great. I’m so excited.” Payton went on to say, “It is as twisty, and turny, and full of so many characters, I can’t wait for you guys to see it. You’re going to love it.”

Young Justice: Outsiders is due for release on DC’s new digital platform by the end of the year, and I can’t wait.
